Trade Mark (and Copyright) Licensing Scheme
Introduction
APM Group has been granted delegated authority on behalf of OGC to issue sub-licenses for the re-use of OGC's trade marks (PRINCE2®, MSP®, M_o_R®, ITIL®, P3O®, P3M3™) within an applicants product/s. Applicants can also apply to APM Group for a sub-licence to re-use Crown copyright content from OGC publications, as published by OGC's official publisher, The Stationery Office (TSO), in addition to use of the respective trade mark.
Applicants who wish to reproduce Crown copyright content from any of OGC's publications without requiring a sub-licence for the re-use of a trade mark should apply to OGC for a Value-Added License.
Please note: There are different routes for obtaining a sub-licence, depending on your requirements. To ensure the correct sub-licence is applied for, please view the "Which Sub-Licence" document available for download below.
Overview of the APM Group Licensing Process
APM Group can issue sub-licenses for a range of products, including books and software tools. We will also consider applications for articles not intended for sale, such as corporate brochures or other corporate or non-corporate services.
The process is:
Applicants first submit an application form to APM Group.
Upon receipt of application, we will ask you to enter into a sub-licence agreement which contains terms and conditions for the product review and grant of licence.
We then require a copy of your intended product.
All products submitted to APM Group for licensing are subject to assessment by a qualified assessor in order to verify the technical quality and correctness of the material as well as alignment with the principles of OGC best practice guidance.
For certain products, such as software tools, an assessor can work together with you in order to help you develop a demo into a final product.
Once all parties are happy with the outcome of the assessment and the resolution of the issues arising from the assessment, final approval can be granted.
Fees are charged in accordance with the APM Group Trade Mark (and Copyright) Licensing Framework and are based on the amount of Crown copyright material re-used and the context in which the material is used.
Trade Mark (and Copyright) Licensing Scheme
The Trade Mark (and Copyright) Licensing Scheme includes a logo which is available to everyone who is awarded a sub-licence. The logo incorporates the popular swirl image, along with the applicable brand and wording to confirm that the product has been appropriately licensed by OGC.

This new logo has been introduced to provide a mark that clearly demonstrates which products have been authorised to use OGC's material. This new logo will be of great benefit to licence holders and customers, who will be able to recognise those products which have been quality reviewed and correctly sub-licensed by OGC.
Applicants whose' products are covered by a valid Trade Mark (and Copyright) Licence may also apply to have their products endorsed. Suitable products will be entitled to display the appropriate Endorsement Mark (see below). The Mark endorses OGC material only and ensures compatibility with the relevant brand method.

Suppliers will benefit from using a recognised Endorsement Mark and product trade mark (i.e. the product name, such as PRINCE2®) in both the content and title of their product. Customers can rely on products bearing these marks, as an assurance of quality.
