Graduation Ceremony for PM Elite

On 27th June at Best Practice Showcase 2007, The Projects Group plc (TPG) is holding a Graduation Ceremony for successful candidates of the APMG and Chartered Management Institute's prestigious Diploma in Programme and Project Management. The Diplomas will be presented by Chartered Management Institute Chief Executive, Mary Chapman.

That this is truly an elite qualification is evidenced by the fact that it is one of only a handful of degree-level qualifications for programme and project managers. It also constitutes a significant step towards Chartered Manager status and can include elements of other qualifications, such as PRINCE2®, MSP®, APMP, PMP® and more.

"For too long, project management has been a secondary profession with little choice in qualification structures beyond PRINCE2 Practitioner and APMP certifications. The PPM Diploma provides the chance to gain a specialized degree-level qualification that is also the first step to Chartered Manager status.

It provides project management with the kind of academic credibility needed to make it a primary profession. This graduation ceremony is a chance to celebrate the success of candidates who have worked hard to develop their skills and now represent some of the highest academic achievers in the profession."

After Best Practice Showcase, The Projects Group's graduates will attend a 'Cocktail Party in the Sky' on the London Eye. Organizations such as EDF Energy, Hitachi Data Systems, the UK Intellectual Property Office and Kent County Council will all be represented: many of the candidates were sponsored by their employers.

Notes for Editor:

The PPM Diploma was launched in 2003 by The APM Group (APMG) in partnership with the Chartered Management Institute. The Diploma is designed for Project and Programme Managers who wish to extend their skills and knowledge to embrace a number of programme and project management techniques, achieving a complete professional qualification that is their first step towards Chartered Manager status.

The Diploma consists of seven core units plus an integrative assessment, supported by two additional units for Project Management and two additional units for Programme Management. It is based on extensive research into existing bodies of knowledge on programme and project management and other qualifications, to produce a benchmark qualification for any individual serious about developing their ability as a Programme and Project Manager.
